Statement of Faith
We believe the Bible is the inspired, inerrant, and wholly authoritative Word of God. Every word—from Genesis to Revelation—is breathed out by God, written through human authors, and inspired by the Holy Spirit (2 Timothy 3:16-17, 2 Peter 1:21). The Bible is living and active (Hebrews 4:12), our unchanging foundation for faith and life, and the bedrock upon which Truth + Light Co. builds every resource we create.
We believe in one God who exists eternally in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Each person of the Trinity is fully God, equal in glory and majesty, yet distinct in role and relationship.
God the Father
God is the sovereign Creator over all that exists, both visible and invisible (Genesis 1:1, Psalm 33:6). He is all-powerful, all-knowing, and ever-present. He is the initiator of the plan of redemption and the One who sent His own Son to atone for sinful humanity. He is perfect in mercy, patience, love, faithfulness, holiness, justice, wisdom, and knowledge (Exodus 34:6-7, Romans 11:33). He is worthy of all worship and praise (Revelation 4:11)!
God the Son
Jesus Christ is the Son of God. “He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation” (Colossians 1:15). The fullness of God dwells within Him (Colossians 1:19). He willingly stepped out of heaven, came to the earth, and clothed Himself in humanity yet was without sin. After dying on the cross, bearing the wrath and punishment humanity deserves, God raised Him from the dead and has highly exalted Him, bestowing on Him that name that is above all names (Philippians 2:5-11). Jesus is the fulfillment of all of God’s promises (2 Corinthians 1:20). He is the head of the Church, and one day He will return for His children (Ephesians 5:23, 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17).
God the Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit is the promised Helper sent by God in the name of Jesus (John 14:16-17). Believers are sealed with the promised Holy Spirit, who is the guarantee of our eternal inheritance (Ephesians 1:13-14). The Spirit helps us grow in sanctification and empowers God's people for His purposes. He is our intercessor before the Father (Romans 8:26). And the Spirit produces fruit in the life of the believer (Galatians 5:22-23).
We believe that all people, male and female, are created in the image of God to reflect His glory (Genesis 1:27). Mankind’s perfect existence in the presence of God in the garden of Eden ended when sin entered the world. Adam and Eve chose to believe the lies of the serpent and reject God. Because of this, sin spread through all mankind and we all face judgment (Romans 5:12). Sin leads to death and eternal separation from God. Sin must be atoned for in order to dwell in God’s presence and have eternal life.
We believe all people are sinners separated from God and in need of salvation (Romans 3:23). We believe Jesus Christ—fully God and fully man—came to save His people from their sins (Matthew 1:21). Through His perfect life, substitutionary death on the cross, bodily resurrection, and ascension where He now sits at the right hand of the Father, Jesus accomplished our redemption fully and forever (1 Peter 2:24, 1 Corinthians 15:3-4). The Spirit of God now dwells in us, and believers joyfully await Christ’s return when we will dwell in God’s presence for eternity (Revelation 21:1-4). This gospel is the heartbeat of everything we do.
We believe God designed the family as the primary place where faith is nurtured and passed down. Throughout Scripture, God calls parents to teach His Word diligently to their children—in everyday moments at home, on the road, at bedtime, and at the breakfast table (Deuteronomy 6:6-7). We believe the Bible isn't meant to gather dust on a shelf but to be opened, discussed, and lived out within the family unit. When households center their lives on God's Word, they become communities of faith that display His love and transform the world around them (Psalm 78:4-7).
Scripture welcomes every reader, regardless of biblical knowledge or spiritual maturity. You don't need advanced degrees or perfect understanding to meet God in His Word. Whether you're a new believer taking your first steps or a mature Christian leading your family spiritually, God's Word speaks to you right where you are. The Holy Spirit illuminates Scripture for all who approach it with sincere hearts (1 Timothy 2:3-4, John 16:13).
We believe in the holy, universal Church—the body of believers across all times and places who confess Jesus Christ as Lord. We believe families flourish when connected to a local church community, where they can worship together, grow in biblical truth, and serve alongside other believers. Spiritual formation happens not in isolation, but in the context of authentic Christian fellowship. (1 Corinthians 12:12-17, Hebrews 10:24-25)
We affirm the Nicene Creed* as our theological foundation, standing with Christians throughout history in confessing the essential truths of our faith:
We believe in one God, the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and of all things visible and invisible.
And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only-begotten Son of God, begotten of the Father before all worlds, God of God, Light of Light, very God of very God, begotten, not made, being of one substance with the Father; by whom all things were made; who for us and for our salvation came down from heaven, and was incarnate by the Holy Spirit of the Virgin Mary, and was made man;s and was crucified also for us under Pontius Pilate; He suffered and was buried; and the third day He rose again according to the Scriptures; and ascended into heaven, and sits on the right hand of the Father; and He shall come again, with glory, to judge both the living and the dead; whose kingdom shall have no end.
And we believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord and giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son; who with the Father and the Son together is worshiped and glorified; who spoke by the prophets.
And we believe in one holy catholic and apostolic Church; we acknowledge one baptism for the remission of sins; and we look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come. Amen.
"Catholic" refers to the universal church of God's people throughout all time and from all places.
*The Nicene Creed, also known as the Niceno-Constantinopolitan Creed, was formulated at the First Council of Nicaea (AD 325) and expanded at the First Council of Constantinople (AD 381).
Because we believe Scripture is God's inerrant Word, we are committed to creating resources that faithfully reflect biblical truth with theological depth and practical application. Because we believe in the gospel's transforming power, we write with hope that families will draw closer to God and to one another. Because we believe God works through families to build His Kingdom, we dedicate ourselves to equipping parents—in all their beautiful diversity—to nurture households where faith is authentic, relationships are strong, and a legacy of devotion to Christ is passed down for generations to come.
"These words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise." —Deuteronomy 6:6-7 (ESV)
